President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's administration has decided to set up a ministry dedicated to the Dhivehi language.

'One' has come to know Dr. Muizzu's government, which assumes office on November 17, will create three completely new ministries, including a ministry dedicated to Dhivehi language, but it is not yet certain who will be appointed to the ministry.

At present, Dhivehi Bahuge Academy is run under Heritage Ministry.

Dr. Muizzu has also hinted at the creation of a ministry dedicated to the Dhivehi language.

"There will be new ministries. There are some promises I made in the campaign. Creating an agriculture ministry, creating a ministry that will strengthen the decentralization system, the ministries will give special importance to the local language," Dr. Muizzu said.

  • Planning and Environment Ministry: Thorig Ibrahim
  • Gender Ministry: Dr. Aishath Shiham
  • Ministry of Transport: Mohammad Amin (Captain Ameen)
  • Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Moosa Zameer
  • Defence Ministry: Ghassan Maumoon
  • Local Government Ministry: Adam Shareef Umar
  • Fisheries Minister: Ahmed Shiyam
  • Ministry of Youth and Technology: Ibrahim Waheed
  • Ministry of Agriculture: Dr. Aishath Ramila
  • Ministry of Infrastructure and Construction: Dr. Abdulla Muttalib
  • Ministry of Economic Affairs: Mohamed Saeed
  • Tourism Ministry: Ibrahim Faisal
  • Housing Minister: Dr. Haider Ahmed
