Elon Musk's Starlink has launched satellite-based high-speed internet services in the Maldives.
According to the company's website, the service will offer speeds of up to 200 Mbps.
The service is priced at MVR 1,000 per month. These include a dish antenna, a mount, and a Wi-Fi router unit. The initial installation and setup costs MVR 10,300 including shipping.
The service can now be used anywhere in the Maldives, including remote areas while out at sea.
Starlink was licensed to provide internet in August this year. Maldives is the first South Asian country to issue a license to Starlink.
SpaceX is already providing high-speed internet via satellite to more than 50 countries around the world.
Elon Musk's Starlink, the world's largest satellite internet provider, has seen a huge increase in users over the past year. The typical internet speed provided by Starlink is 300 Mbps.
