Jet Airways discontinue operations following mounting debt

Jet Airways have discontinued their operations, following mounting debt to the airline.

The famed Indian airline stopped its flights after being unable to make ends meet in terms of expenses for fuel and other necessities.

An official for the airline revealed that the total debt for the airline exceeds over USD 1.2 billion.

While Jet Airways have discontinued their operations, it is not clear that they will restart them anytime soon - making this an indefinite hiatus for the airline.

Reports claim despite a fleet of 123 air crafts, only five air crafts were in operating conditions and that pending salaries of one month were still there for the crew of the airline.
