Four people were injured in an explosion at the Kulhudhuffushi Airport today.

Police said a cylinder used in the Kulhudhuffushi Airport Fire Training Department exploded while refilling. The incident was reported to police at 11:45 am today.

Four employees of the Kulhudhuffushi City Airport Fire Department were injured in the incident. They are being treated at the Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital.

Three men and a woman were injured in the incident, Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital Manager Mohammed Moosa told One Online. One of them sustained serious injuries to his hand and is being treated in the operating theatre.

Mohammed said the other three suffered minor injuries.

Police are on the scene of the incident.
