President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has decided to provide attendance allowance to social health and social service sector employees if they report to work during holidays.
President's Spokesperson Miuvan Mohamed told 'One' that the president's decision to grant attendance benefits to employees in the social health and service sectors was made after reviewing complaints from health professionals.
"It has been decided that employees who are part of social service matrices who have migrated to the pay framework, who attend office on official holidays, will be entitled to attendance benefits," Miuvan said.
The president has also decided to extend the benefit to employees in the health and social services sector who attend on duty basis even on official holidays, he added.
The president had yesterday announced attendance allowance if doctors and nurses joined work during official holidays.
