President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has cast his vote for the 2023 Presidential Election.

The President cast his vote for the Ballot Box dedicated for Hinnavaru residents in Jamaaluddin School. He had cast his vote at 10:47am.

Speaking to reporters after casting his vote, the President noted that voter turn out is expected to be between 80 to 90 percent, adding that voting arrangements are ongoing smoothly.

While President Solih has voted, JP Candidate Qasim Ibrahim, MNP Candidate Mohamed Nazim, PPM/PNC Candidate Mohamed Muizzu and Independent Candidate Ahmed Faris has also voted.

The Elections Commission (EC) revealed that voting for the election began at 8:00am locally, with queues expected to close by 4:00pm.

A total of eight candidates are competing this year while 282,395 are eligible to vote. The EC further revealed that 574 ballot boxes have been placed for the election.
