India to donate 200,000 LEDs to Maldives

Indian government has decided to donate 200,000 LEDs to the Maldives.

Ministry of Environment revealed on Wednesday that these LEDs are being donated to the Maldives under the agreement about the strengthening of ties in the field of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency between both countries.

The Ministry also added that 5,000 LEDs that they have already received under this, would be handed over to FENAKA on Thursday.

The current administration has several plans to produce electricity through renewable energy sources. The government has plans of providing cheaper electricity to the citizens, finding foreign investors to jump start projects to produce said electricity through renewable sources.

An agreement has also been signed between United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Maldives to about the strengthening of ties in the field of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency between both countries.
