Ex PPM council member, Zahid Rameez has been summoned by the Presidential Commission on Enforced Disappearances and Deaths, and questioned regarding the murder of Yameen Rasheed.

This was confirmed by a tweet sent out by the Commission on Wednesday.

They revealed that Zahid had appeared before the Commission, where he was questioned regarding the tweets sent out to Yameen during 2011 and 2012.

President of the Commission, Husnu Al Suood was not available for a comment at the time of press.

Zahid, who had also contested as an independent candidate for S. Hithadhoo at the Parliamentary Election 2019 — who later withdrew his candidacy — had issued death threats to the slain blogger previously.

Yameen Rasheed was murdered on the stairwell of his house, where he was stabbed 24 times. While his murder investigation and trial is ongoing, his family and friends have raised concerns regarding it several times.
