Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has provided an opportunity to four students of Care Society to seek training and work experience within the working environment at Velana International Airport.
The program, conducted in collaboration with the Care Society from May to July this year, was part of MACL's social responsibility.
The students who participated in the program were given a special allowance every month and were allowed to work in various sections of MACL, including day-to-day administrative work, customer service work, and other staff.
At a function held at the airport yesterday to celebrate the success of the program, MACL Managing Director and CEO Mahjoob Sujau handed over the completion letters to the four students who completed their internships.
Heads of various departments of MACL and Care Society were present on the occasion.
"This is part of the company's social responsibility to empower and provide sustainable support to the specially-abled people in the community. The program will not only provide participants with work experience but will also provide a foundation for these children to enter the workplace," said Hassan Areef, General Manager, Corporate Communications, MACL.
