President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih inaugurated the extension building for the healthcare centre in M. Atoll Dhiggaru on Sunday as part of his ongoing visit to the Atoll.

The new wing at the healthcare centre includes a public health unit that offers preventive and promotive health services, an administrative space that manages and coordinates the healthcare staff, and a medical store that ensures the availability and quality of essential medicines and supplies.

The new wing would address the challenges of delivering efficient and effective healthcare services to the locals and neighbouring islands.

President Solih visited the new facility following the inauguration and checked the various sections and equipment.

President Solih also made pledges to the residents in the island, promising urban and infrastructure development and housing.
