President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that small populations have been neglected by the previous governments in the Maldives.
Speaking to the people of Meemu Atoll Raiymandhoo this morning as part of his visit to some islands of Meemu Atoll, the President said that Raiymandhoo has also been neglected by the governments due to the low population.
However, the President said that no citizen of the Maldives should be deprived of basic services with a GDP per capita of about USD 12,000.
He said that while people living in small islands are not important to those who enter the presidential race, the present government is thinking of serving the people.
He said that by the end of this year, work on the harbor and shore protection of the island will begin and modern volleyball courts will be built for the youth of the island.
