Member of Elections Commission, Ahmed Akram has revealed that 11 complaints regarding the ongoing Parliamentary Election has been submitted to the National Complaints Bureau.
According to Akram, these complaints revolve around reporting illegal activities that has been happening regarding the elections.
With less than an hour left for voting to close, the commission has also stated that they do not intend one extending the voting deadlines. Voting will close across all boxes in the Maldives at 4:00pm.
According to the latest statistics by the Elections Commission, a total of 140,900 people had voted out of an eligible 264,442 eligible voters.
With this, the voter turnout for this election has risen up to 44.56% meaning 54% of eligible voters are yet to vote.
