Elections Commissioner, Ahmed Shareef has revealed that over 90,000 people have voted in the ongoing Parliamentary Election.
The election which began voting at 8:00am on Saturday has a total of 264,442 eligible voters. Out of this, 90,000 have voted so far. This includes 50,772 males and 43,425 females.
As of now, the voter turn out stands at 35.62% which is significantly lower compared to the Presidential Election held last September.
There are a total of 501 ballot boxes for the election. Voters have expressed their satisfaction over the smooth arrangements of the election in comparison to the previous Presidential Election.
Voting closes at 4:00pm today across the country.
