The land reclamation projects for B. Thulhadhoo, Th. Villufushi and B. Bileyfahi Airport Development have been contracted.

The three projects were awarded to Capital Marine and Civil Construction Private Limited, a Sri Lankan company, at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure.

The company is the same company that has been assigned to reclaim an additional 20 hectares of land from Thilafushi as per the master plan for the development of Thilafushi.

Director General Fathimath Shana Farooq signed the agreement on behalf of the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure. On behalf of Capital Marine and Civil Construction, Managing Director Sivaraja Manivannan signed the agreement.

The total cost of the three projects is USD 42.4 million (MVR 654 million). They were given nine months to complete the work.

Under the project:

- 44.70 hectares of land to be reclaimed for Thulhadhoo airport

- 56.34 hectares of land to be reclaimed for Villufushi airport

- 56.34 hectares of land to be reclaimed for Bileiyfahi airport
