The national airline, Maldivian, has decided to increase its scheduled flights to three domestic airports.
Maldivian revealed that they have decided to increase their scheduled flights to Maafaru Airport, Ifuru Airport, and Madivaru Airport. As such, an extra daily flight will be operated to these three airports.
With this change, there will be a daily flight from Madivaru to Maafaru and from Maafaru to Male'. This is the first time that Maldivian is operating scheduled flights from one domestic airport to another.
The change will come into effect from June 20.
As per the current flight schedule, only two flights a day are operated to Ifuru. It also operates a daily flight to Maafaru and Madivaru.
Public Relations Executive at Maldivian, Mushil Sobah told One Online today that the decision to add daily flights to these three airports was taken to cater to the demand for these airports, and with these changes, those who want to travel from Madivaru to Maafaru will also be able to do so on a daily basis.
"We are constantly looking at the demand of passengers at various airports and depending on the demand, we will do the same if we need to increase the number of flights to more airports as well," Mushil said.
