The voting process to elect the 19th Parliamentary body of Maldives has begun in several areas.

Voters can cast their ballots from 8:00 am till 4:00 pm today. The vote counting is set to begin, 30 minutes after the vote box closes. All voters who were in the line, before 4:00 pm will still be given the opportunity to cast their votes, even after that time.

While Parliamentary hopefuls had been given the chance to campaign, all activities were to cease by 6:00 pm yesterday.

There are 264,442 citizens who are eligible to vote during the Parliamentary elections this year. While 386 candidates are running for Parliament, a total of 505 vote boxes have been placed for the elections.
