The Ministry of Home Affairs has announced that they will be organizing an eight-day carnival to mark Independence Day.

In an announcement made yesterday, the Ministry said that as part of this year's Independence Day celebrations, a carnival titled 'Minivan Ufaa Carnival' will be organized at Hulhumale' Central Park from August 28 to August 4 in association with Urbanco.

The Ministry said it has opened up 40 slots for people interested in running food stalls during the carnival. According to the Ministry only Coffee, Light Drinks, Ice cream, Popcorn, Snow Cone, Cotton Candy, Fast Food or Light Food and home bakers or different local cuisines will be kept at the carnival.

"The profit from the sale of food will go to the stall owner," the Ministry added.

Those interested in setting up food stalls at the carnival will have to submit their proposals through [email protected] by July 13, the ministry said.

Independence Day is celebrated on July 26 every year.
