Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital (KRH) has begun chemotherapy services.

The service was officially inaugurated on Wednesday with a patient from a northern atoll receiving chemotherapy.

KRH said that chemotherapy was administered with the support of experts from Hulhumale' Hospital. The hospital added that they have trained nurses as well. KRH added that bio safety cabinets have been installed to provide chemotherapy.

KRH stated that they are in discussion with Hulhumale' Hospital over safe disposal of the psychotoxic drugs used in chemotherapy sessions.
