Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC)'s CEO Adam Azim has stated that Raajje Transport Link (RTL) will begin high speed ferry services to Huvadhoo Atoll next week.
MTCC has transported 6 launches to Huvadhoo Atoll on Thursday in preparation for RTL ferry services in the Atoll.
Speaking to the media after the ceremony held at Hulhumale' Ferry Terminal to send off the launches, Azim said that MTCC is ready to commence the service in the Atoll. As such, 80 employees have been hired and are being trained for the service.
Azim added that MTCC will begin trips in July to create awareness among the public regarding RTL ferry services.
"Familiarisation trips will begin on 13 July. We will start paid service on 20 July. We are working on introducing RTL ferry services to Addu City and Fuvahmulah City in August to connect the atolls with Huvadhoo," Azim said.
MTCC has introduced RTL ferry services to HDh, HA, Sh, and Lh Atolls under their initiative to connect the nation under a single transportation network.
