State Trading Organisation (STO) has signed a contract to build the ICU and NICU in Hulhumale' Hospital.

At a ceremony held at STO Headquarters on Tuesday, the contract was signed on behalf of STO by CEO and Managing Director Abdulla Saeed. CEO Mariya Saeed signed on behalf of Hulhumale' Hospital.

The project will add an additional 24 ICU beds as well as 5 Operating Theatres to Hulhumale' Hospital.

According to Hulhumale' Hospital, the number of patients seeking medical attention has increased over the years. The Hospital added that one of the biggest challenges faced by the Hospital is the scarcity of space.

Hulhumale' Hospital provides mental health services, paediatric services, and cancer treatment as well.

STO stated that Hulhumale' Hospital's ICU and NICU will be developed as a customised service centre with the most modern facilities.
