Big Fish Maldives Pvt Ltd has been contracted with HDh. Makunudhoo Airport land reclamation and shore protection project.

At a ceremony held at Planning Ministry on Thursday, the agreement was signed on behalf of the Ministry by Permanent Secretary Zeeniya Ahmed and CEO of Big Fish Maldives, Shafin Ahmed.

The project is valued at USD 16 million, to be completed within 366 days.

Speaking at Hanimaadhoo Airport's field work inauguration on 19 January 2023, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had announced that the funds required for airport developments have been secured.

Funds required for airport developments in the islands:

  • Sh. Bilehfahi - USD 23,600,00
  • B. Thulhaadhoo - USD 21,900,00
  • Th. Vilufushi - USD 33,300,00
