Three Maldivian women have won the Women in Management (WIM) Global Top 50 Award held in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Gender Minister Aishath Mohamed Didi was also among the three Maldivian women who were honored with the award last night. Sri Lankan Prime Minister, Dinesh Gunawardena presented the award to the Minister.

Apart from Minister Aishath Mohamed Didi, Managing Director of Island Aviation, Aishath Jennifer and Aishath Shafeeq received the Global Top 50 Award.

Minister Aishath Mohamed Didi received the award under the category "Leadership Award in Social Service and Politics", while Jennifer received the award in the aviation category and Aishath Shafeeq received the "Courageous Award".

WIM also awarded the most active member, giving away the "WIM Member of the Year Award" to Ishana Waleed.

WIM conducted the awards over the weekend, with a three-day forum that kicked off last Thursday. Maldives participated in two of the panels of the Women Economic Forum.

Women in Management Maldives President Minha Faiz Rashad took park in the 'Entrepreneurship and Global Market' panel, while former Health Minister and SIMDI CEO, Dr. Mariyam Shakeela participated in the 'Women in Tourism' panel.

Dr. Shakeela was also part of the judging panel for the year.

Minister Aishath Mohamed Didi gave a keynote speech on 'Looking Beyond Tokenism'.
