Safaath appointed Civil Service Advisory Governor at Commonwealth

Safaath Ahmed Zahir has been appointed Civil Service Advisory Governor (CSAG) - Asia - to the Board of Commonwealth.

Commonwealth decided to appoint governors in Africa, Asia, Caribbean and Americas, Pacifice and European regions in February.

Safaath was appointed CSAG among 600 applicants in Asia.

She Tweeted that she is "deeply humbled and honored to have been appointed as one of the five Civil Society Advisory Governors (CSAG) to the Board of the Commonwealth."

Safaath added that over the next two years, she will "serve the Asian Region within the CSAG mechanism and pledge to be a strong advocate for the voices and concerns of Asian civil societies. Together, we will work towards promoting democracy, gender equality, human rights, and sustainable development across the Commonwealth."
