High Court has scheduled appeal hearings for both former President Abdulla Yameen and Former Felidhoo MP Yoosuf Naeem for tomorrow.

President Yameen is serving a 11-year prison sentence after being found guilty of money laundering and accepting bribes in the Vaavu Atoll Aarah lease transaction, while Yoosuf Naeem is facing three years and 12 days in prison for offering bribes in the same case.

Both appeals are ongoing simultaneously at the High Court. A hearing was held on June 7th, where only Yoosuf Naeem was able to present his appeal. He had appealed four points in the case.

Wrapping up the hearing, Judge Hassan Shafeeu who presides over the three judges bench overseeing the case noted that the next hearing will provide Naeem's lawyers time to contest the points presented by the state. Following this, the judges will be granted time to clear any points they wish to, if any.

Judge Huzaifa Mohamed and Judge Mohamed Saleem complete the judges bench alongside Judge Hassan Shafeeu.

The hearing has been scheduled for 2:00pm tomorrow.
