The first group of Maldivian pilgrims have departed for Hajj.

The 294 pilgrims who departed on Monday are the first group under Maldives Hajj Corporation.

Vice President Faisal Naseem and this year's Amir Al Hajj met with the pilgrims before they departed this afternoon. Islamic Ministry stated that the pilgrims will arrive at Abdul Aziz International Airport by 1845hrs.

The administration has made great efforts in providing convenience to the pilgrims this year. As such, the Maldivian Hajj Mission met with 'Al-Baith Guests' who will be in charge of the Maldivian pilgrims this year.

Maldives received a 1,000 pax quota for hajj this year.
