The Elections Commission of the Maldives (EC) has made re-registrations for the Presidential Election available via an online platform.
Vice President of the Commission, Ismail Habeeb revealed to One Online today that online re-registrations are already available for some elections, adding that it will also be available for the upcoming Presidential Election.
He noted that online re-registrations will be available via a specific platform as compared to the physical form submission for re-registrations before.
While the regulations for the Election was published last night, the regulations note that re-registration forms must be submitted through a system established by the commission in the event a voter is looking to cast their ballot in a place that is different from their registered address.
Re-registrations will be opened after the complaints are submitted to the permanent voter's list. The list will be published by the EC sometime today.
Complaints for the voter's list will be received till 22nd of June,, while re-registrations will open on July 16th.
The Presidential Election is scheduled for September 9th.
