Jumhooree Party (JP) leader and Maamigili constituency MP, Qasim Ibrahim has officially stated that he will not be joining a coalition with President Solih.
'One Online' has learnt that Qasim sent a letter addressed MDP last night, officially stating he will not join the coalition.
A source informed 'One' on Friday that Qasim sent the letter to MDP prior to receiving the presidential ticket from JP in response to President Solih's invitation to join the coalition.
"MDP had invited JP to join the coalition, which is why JP leader signed the letter and sent it to MDP last night," the source said.
The source further added that the administration is acting against the coalition agreement and their treatment of JP is against it as well.
JP is holding a function on Friday night to present the presidential ticket to Qasim Ibrahim. JP leader is expected to announce his manifesto during the event as well.
