Elections Commission (EC) has given the go-ahead to register 'Justice and Development' Party.

EC said on Wednesday that the Commission has given approval to M. Fehi Vina Dr. Mohamed Athif to register the party.

Dr. Athif told the media that the party will not have any prominent political figures in the frontline. He said that the party will be run by educated and capable people.

"We want to bring a change to this nation. This is a new leadership," he stated.

He added that the party will submit the required 3,000 forms for registration before the elections, and that the party will also run in the elections.
