Ministry of Planning has revealed that those who are receiving flats and lands under the 'Gedhoruveriyaa' program will be revealed before Eid.
State Minister at the Planning Ministry, Akram Kamaluddin who also serves as the Chairman of the 'Gedhoruverin Committee' which was formed to evaluate the applicants revealed to One Online that the final works on the list is now ongoing.
He noted that the list will be revealed this month, before Eid-Al-Adha.
Over 35,800 applications were received for the 5,000 plots of land and 4,000 flats to be given by the government.
This includes 15,164 applicants who are seeking land and 20,697 applicants who are seeking flats. This is further broken down into 14,489 applications which were for three-bedroom apartments and 6,208 applications which were for two-bedroom apartments.
Under the scheme, 4,000 apartments are being built in Hulhumale Phase 2. India's JBC and NBCC are contracted for the project, each for 2,000 units.
Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation has stated that works on 13 towers will be complete and inhabitable by August, which is 1,624 units.
While 32 towers of 18 stories are being developed under the scheme, each tower will have three lifts. While each floor includes 8 residential units, commercial slots, and parking is dedicated on the lower floors.
