Maldives National Party (MNP) President Mohamed Nazim has stated that there is no reason to impeach Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed.

Speaking to One Online, Nazim who also serves as the MP for Dhangethi stated that since the day he was elected as the Speaker, he had not done things any differently than his predecessors.

Nazim highlighted that MDP parliamentarians are moving to oust Nasheed since the agenda of a specific person is being left unfulfilled. He stressed that he will vote against the impeachment of Nasheed, as well as all other members of MNP.

MDP PG Group passed to impeach Nasheed yesterday, and has since racked up the required number of signatures to submit the petition.
