High Court timings have been changed in order for the upcoming Parliamentary Election on Saturday.
The court revealed that in order to make it easier for people to lodge complaints about the upcoming election, they have decided to keep the court registration open from 08:00am onwards till 10:00pm on Saturday.
Looking to complaints about the elections falls under the jurisdiction of the High Court.
According to the court, all eligible voters, candidates, political parties, observers and monitors of the election would be able to lodge a complaint. Complaints must be lodged through the form for election complaints. The court also added that in the event of the court being closed during the time, one can proceed by calling the registration of the court.
The court added that great attention should be given to complete the form and include all necessary documents when submitting it. In addition to this, they asked to be careful about all details of the case including the reasoning as well as any proof of the incident(s).
According to the constitution, complaints about the election should be lodged within 14 days of the announcement of the official result. In addition to this, all complaints should be looked into and reach a verdict within the first 30 days from the announcement of the results.
