National Center for Information Technology (NCIT) has revealed that over 10,000 users are now using the Digital ID after a public preview was launched.

The first public preview of the Digital ID was opened last February for 500 Android users. Following that, NCIT launched a larger-scale preview via eFaas application on both Android and iOS devices on May 31.

NCIT revealed today that 10,000 users are now using the Digital ID, adding that they are working to further develop the feature.

While hospitals in Haa Alif and Haa Dhaalu Atoll have started providing Aasandha services through the Digital ID, it is also being accepted for domestic travel.

To use the Digital ID, the eFaas application needs to be installed. The ID contains information about health, family, business, and employment and includes Digital Licenses as well as marriage certificates and medical history through Aasandha.
