President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih stated that MIFCO will commence the expansion of Addu City's brine factory to 100 tonnes next month.

Speaking at the inauguration of Gan International Airport Development Project, President Solih stated that the development of the airport would benefit tuna exportation.

As such, the development of the fisheries complex and Addu Airport's cold storage and cargo facility will also reduce the cost of services as well.

"MIFCO will begin the expansion work of the 50 tonne brine factory to a 100 tonne, next month," President Solih said.

He added that MIFCO's harbour will also be opened by August.
