Maldives Police Service has caught a taxi that fled from Velana International Airport (VIA) with goods worth MVR 150,000.

Police said the taxi had fled with electronics worth MVR 150,000 instead of dropping it off at the requested location. The incident was reported to police by the owner and Maafannu Police have since found the goods and returned it to the owner.

Police said the taxi was found via CCTV footage.

Police media official told 'One' that the taxi driver has not been arrested but the incident is being investigated.
