Finance Ministry has signed with UNDP to facilitate importation of medicine to Maldives via UNDP's Health Procurement Service.

The agreement was signed by Finance Minister Ibrahim Ameer and UNDP's Representative Enrico Gaveglia, at a ceremony held at Finance Ministry on Thursday.

Finance Ministry stated that through this agreement, Maldives will be able to import quality medication through the Health Procurement Service. The Ministry added that the aim of this agreement is to cut down costs by STO to import medication to Maldives, and build on capacity in a sustainable manner to serve the health sector.

The Ministry further stated that this agreement would enable Maldives to attain UN's Sustainable Development Goal of Good Health and Well-being while also providing Aasandha Insurance nationwide.
