President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has decided to award student loan to all applicants who meet the criteria.

President's Spokesperson Miuvan Mohamed Tweeted on Wednesday night that Education Ministry will share detailed information on Thursday.

The Maldives government has been giving student loans since 2019, with over 1,986 students currently studying under the loan scheme. Student loans are prioritised based on the national skills shortage list.
