'The Democrats' will submit forms on Thursday to Elections Commission (EC) to officially register the party.

The party sought EC's go-ahead to form the party on 21 May 2023 and received approval on 24 May 2023.

'The Democrats' have been collecting membership forms to submit for registration. As per Political Parties Act, at least 3,000 membership forms are needed to form a party.

'The Democrats' Tweeted on Wednesday urging everyone who wishes to sign up for the party to submit their forms by 2300hrs on Wednesday night.

'The Democrats' have not yet disclosed how many people have submitted membership forms for the party.
