A Bangladeshi national has been arrested over accusations of running a solicitation network in the Maldives.

The 33-year-old Faijul Islam was arrested on Thursday from Vilimale' where he resided. Criminal Court ordered a 15-day remand for the expat as investigation continues.

Police told Criminal Court that Faijul Islam is accused of bringing foreigners to Maldives as part of a solicitation network. Police added that the network was in fact run by him.

As per the Criminal Court order, Police presented some evidence that supported the accusations made against the expat.
