President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has reiterated the administration's objective of attaining comprehensive national progress by prioritising the development of all islands and fulfilling the aspirations of every individual.

He made these remarks on Saturday during his meeting with the residential community of Nilandhoo in the Faafu Atoll.

Addressing the residents of Nilandhoo, the President highlighted the fulfilment of numerous projects requested by the island residents during his previous visit. As such, the President highlighted the completion of most of these projects while informing the community about ongoing developmental initiatives in the area.

President Solih also announced upcoming initiatives to address the residents' concerns, including the commencement of harbour and coastline protection projects. He also revealed plans to develop two additional islands within the Nilandhoo lagoon to facilitate the establishment of resorts to enhance employment prospects and boost tourism opportunities for the local community. He added that the construction of a police station would soon commence.

During the meeting, the residents of Nilandhoo raised their concerns to the President regarding urgent needs and the challenges they were encountering. The residents spoke of road construction, expansion of council office space, and the development of the hospital and school, and the enhancement of sports facilities.

President Solih conveyed his commitment to collaborate closely with the administration and relevant authorities to address the concerns the citizens raised effectively.
