Ibrahim 'Gabbarey' Abdulla, who is wanted by police for allegedly attempting to kill Mathiveri MP Hassan Zareer has surrendered to the police.
Police began a manhunt for him for instigating street violence with a group and for attempting to kill a person. The Police were acting on a court order to locate the accused.
Ibrahim is a member of the MDP National Council, where he serves as the president of South Mahchangoalhi.
Ibrahim has also been arrested in several cases of assault, murder, and robbery in the past. As such, the Police alleged that he was part of the murder of Ali Ishar in 2007.
While Police has arrested Ibrahim in the attempted murder case of MP Zareer, they have also arrested a 21 and 22-year-old man in relation to the case.
MP Zareer was attacked while inside a café near the TVM building.
