Three opposition members have been named and asked to remove themselves from the parliament session today for protesting against Home Minister Imran Abdulla.

The three members who were named are Naifaru MP Ahmed Shiyam, Faresmathodaa MP Ahmed Latheef and Maavah MP Mohamed Saeed.

The protest began after Imran had arrived to the parliament to be questioned by Thimarafushi MP Abdulla Riyaz over the establishment of police stations in 61 islands.

The opposition members had surrounded the Minister and protested regarding the treatment of former President Abdulla Yameen, who is currently in jail after being found guilty of money laundering and corruption.

Hanimaadhoo MP AbdulGafoor Moosa was talking to the three members in defense of the Minister at the time.

Deputy Speaker Eva Abdulla had then named the three members, and requested them to leave the parliament chambers.
