Urbanco has opened parking slots in 'Unimaa' parking zone near Red Wave Mega Mall in Hulhumale; Phase I.

Urbanco made the announcement to lease parking slots from 'Unimaa' parking zone on last Tuesday. Acoridng to the announcement, 10 slots have been opened for lease under a bid policy with bids starting at MVR 1,500. The slots will be leased for a 1-year period.

Individuals would qualify for the bid if they are a Maldivian citizen aged 18 and above and have a vehicle registered under their name. Bidders should not have a parking slot leased to them by Urbanco already, the company stated.

Urbanco added that bidders will be selected on a point basis, with 80 points given to the bidding price, and 20 points are reserved for bidders who reside in the neighbourhood. Bids will be accepted starting 11 June 2023, and documents will be opened on the same day.

Urbanco stated that the main reason for leasing parking slots is to provide more convenience to the residents in Hulhumale' and to sort the parking issues faced due to shortage of space.

Urbanco introduced the first smart parking zone last week and have opened up slots for lease as well. The Fithuroanu smart parking zone is located near the ferry terminal. Urbanco said the company is working on introducing more smart parking zones as well.
