Regional Airports Company Limited (RACL) has begun the first Airport Rescue & Fire Fighting (ARFF) course for the year.

The course which will be held in Haa Dhaalu Atoll Hanimadhoo is targeted at their new employees and will be a basic training course for them. RACL will be conducting the course for a period of one month, starting May 7th.

RACL has revealed that this will be the first of many such courses this year, adding that there are 20 participants in the ongoing program.

The company further highlighted that the main objective of the course is to teach about the Airport Emergency Plan (AEP) and to train their employees on fire security at their airports.

Participants will face practical and theoretical training during the course, led by skilled in-house trainers of RACL who are authorized by the Civil Aviation Authority.

RACL stressed that it was important to them to provide training and learning courses to further strengthen the aviation industry in the Maldives.

As such, the company revealed that they are preparing to open a training academy and that other companies and the general public will also be able to participate in their programs.

The only Airport Fire Simulator in the Maldives is in Hoarafushi Airport, operated by RACL.
