Jumhooree Party (JP) has stated that they are yet to reach an agreement with 'Fikuregge Dhirun', the MDP faction headed by Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed, regarding the upcoming Presidential Election.
Speaking to One Online, the Deputy Leader of JP Ameen Ibrahim revealed that even though discussions have progressed with Fikuregge Dhirun regarding working together at the election, no formal agreement has been reached as of yet.
Ameen further revealed that talks will also progress with Maldives Reform Movement (MRM), who as he described, "is ready" for further talks.
While discussions have progressed with Fikureegge Dhirun and MRM, Ameen noted that no official discussions have been held with the main opposition, Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) yet.
Even though no party has officially declared their support for JP yet, their presidential candidate Qasim Ibrahim had previously stated that he will run whether with the support of other parties or not.
