Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has opened application for proposals for the first phase of the Port Community Fund.
MPL said the primary focus is to support local charities and establish a mutually supportive relationship with the local community.
MPL added that Port Community Fund has been established to assist a wide range of local projects that are aligned with the port’s strategic vision to promote sustainability in environmental, economic and social sector.
MPL said the company aims to contribute a total of MVR 600,000 per year to the Port Community Fund to support 10 CSR projects annually. This will include 8 small-scale projects valued at MVR 50,000 each and 2 large-scale projects valued at MVR 100,000 each.
MPL further added that the company intends to provide a funding system for community-based non-profit organizations, non-governmental organizations, charities, councils, clubs, and schools. Interested parties can submit their applications to [email protected] by 31st May 2023.
The submissions should include the Port Community Fund Application Form and a proposal that outlines the project plan, delivery implementation, and a breakdown of the fund utilization, MPL said.
