Jumhooree Party (JP) Deputy Leader Ameen Ibrahim has stated that the party is not involved in any official talks with the main opposition Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) regarding the upcoming Presidential Election.

Ameen Ibrahim revealed to One Online on Wednesday that after JP Leader Qasim Ibrahim announced his bid for the election, the party had formally invited PPM for discussions as well. However, he noted that the letter never received an answer.

He further highlighted that JP is ready to work with everyone who is ready to support them in the election.

Even though PPM is not part of any discussions with JP, the party has been holding discussions with former President Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom's Maldives Reform Movement (MRM), Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed's Fikuregge Dhirun and Ahmed Adeeb's Maldives Thirdway Democrats (MTD).

Only Adhaalath Party (AP) and Maldives Development Alliance (MDA) have decided to join a coalition with Maldives Democratic Party (MDP) Presidential Candidate, President Ibrhaim Mohamed Solih.
