Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) signs on as main sponsor for Dhivehi Premier League.

The agreement was signed on behalf of MWSC by CEO Hassan Shah and Football Association of Maldives (FAM)'s president Bassam Adheel at a ceremony held at MWSC on Monday.

This marks the first time MWSC is sponsoring Dhivehi Premier League. Prior to this, Dhivehi Premier League has been sponsored by Ooredoo or Dhiraagu.

Dhivehi Premier League is the biggest football event in the Maldives, with 8 teams competing at present. FAM has held discussions to make changes to the league format starting next season.

If the League is changed according to plan, matches will be played at home and away grounds. However, Youth Minister Ahmed Mahloof has previously highlighted budget difficulties with this format.

Maziya Sports and Recreation Club has been the champions of Dhivehi Premier League for the past 3 years.
