Senior members of Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nahseed's 'Fikuregge Dhirun' movement has met with Jumhooree Party's Presidential Candidate, Qasim Ibrahim, where they held discussions on working together for the upcoming Presidential Election.
The meeting which took place at Villa Park this morning was attended by Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Eva Abdulla as well. This was also confirmed to One Online by the Spokesperson of JP, Ali Solih.
Ali Solih noted that this was part of a series of meetings with Nasheed's faction of MDP, regarding the upcoming Presidential Election. However, he did not provide any further details regarding the discussions.
Eva and Hassan Latheef also remained unavailable for comment, hence the details regarding the discussions and the nature of it remain unclear as of yet.
Apart from Eva, West Henveiru MP Hassan Latheef and former STO MD Hussain Amr also participated in the meeting.
From JP, Special Envoy Ilham Ahmed, Special Advisor Riyaz Rasheed and Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik participated in the discussions.
Nasheed's faction had refused to endorse President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, and is seeking to create a coalition with Qasim Ibrahim's Jumhooree Party.
