Two Hiyaa residence apartment owners have been fined for breaking down wall to merge two apartments.

Urbanco said on Friday that upon investigation based on reports, they have identified the owners of the apartments, and that the owners had merged two apartments to make a 4 room apartment.

Urbanco added that each owner had been fined MVR 100,000 to be paid within five days.

As per the Hiyaa residence agreements, changes can only be brought with written approval from the building management. Anyone who violates the terms of agreement can be fined between MVR 1000 - 100,000.
