State Electric Company (STELCO) has signed as gold sponsor for Maldives Media Council (MMC)'s student journalism programme.

The agreement was signed on behalf of MMC by the Council's president Ahmed Mustafa, and MD Ahmed Shareed on behalf of STELCO.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mustafa stated that STELCO is the second company to sign as a sponsor for the journalism programme. He thanked STELCO for the initiative.

Student journalism programme is carried out by MMC to create interest among school students in the field of journalism. The programme which commenced in January 2023 has trained over 70 students so far.
